Going back to work tomorrow
I've been off work for almost all of last week due to a kidney infection. It's a mixed bag-- I absolutely feel better, and I am ready to go back. But I've got a colleague who is a Martyr's Martyr and who always comes to work when she's sick and is judgy af about those who use stay home. And that is just not on. I can ignore her, for the most part, but I hate that the dynamic is such that she feels she HAS to make a big thing about how she comes to work when she's sick. (Evil Me would like to see her try that at some of the temps I ran last week---she wouldn't have tried it either.)
Regardless...here we are. Excelsior, as Stan Lee would say. I have a job to do. She just has to deal.

Part of the problem is that I transferred to this location just a few months back. And so I'm having to prove (all over again) that I take my job seriously. Well, being sick wasn't part of the plan, obvs, nor something I could control--but you always get those people who think if they could work through an arm falling off, you should be able to work through a fever of 102 or something.
There are also some weird dynamics at my work where I'm being held responsible for policies and procedures I was never told about, because my prior location didn't use them. Ever. So I'm never quite sure what I'm walking into on any given day because---oh, look, it's an email about something else I wasn't told about! Yay, me.
But I'm off the week after Christmas. I will not feel guilty. At all. ;-)
