Okay, so the holidays are coming up like whoa and tomorrow is my office's Celebration of Forced Conviviality. (I shouldn't be so shrewish, really, but I'm not feeling it this year--holidays are hard, yo. Doubly so when you're not entirely sure you'll ever fit in where you are.)

And to cap it all off, our landlady gave us a notice---they're raising our rent. Which, I live in a Very High Cost Of Living Area, and this is going to force us, at long last, to move. Which is just exactly what I wanted to be doing after the first of the year. *facepalm*

And yes, I would absolutely like some cheese with my whine.

UGH. It seems like it's just a tough holiday season for everybody this year. :(

I hope the forced conviviality goes okay and that the housing gods smile on you and you find the perfect place to move to...even if moving always sucks, no matter what.

Thanks, Suze. <3 I transferred out to this division in August and there's a super weird dynamic that I can't quite figure out---the people are nice enough but there's a lot of...odd under the surface that I'm not sure I want to understand. And yeah, the holidays are super hard anyway, this year (it feels like) especially. Most of tomorrow is going to be taken up by parties of one brand or another and I'm just....I don't party this much with people I like 24-7, you know?

Moving is going to be a bitch. Worse is going to be finding a place; rental rates have skyrocketed (because they can) and we're not in a place to buy, so... we kind of have to take it in the teeth and see if we can find a place for ourselves, the cats, and which is also near enough to Roisin's school, and that we can afford. Here's hoping *crosses fingers*

And I feel you on the holidays. I had someone ask me why I wasn't wearing a Santa hat today and I told them I was only wearing one if it said ba hum bug on it.

Thanks. We're going to look at some places this weekend---if the goal is to be out of here before the rent increase in February, the clock is seriously ticking. :-O

The holiday thing at work went...okay, I guess. It's over, and that's honestly fine. I'm not usually a "bah, humbug" kind of person, but I wouldn't hang out with most of these people if there wasn't a work connection, so...I'm just glad this is over for another year.
